Product Information
2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-hydroxybenzoic Acid is a fluorescent molecule that has been expressed in E. coli. It is a neutralizing agent that reacts with hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate to form sodium 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-hydroxybenzoate and water. The reaction solution was analyzed using optical properties and showed that the product had a pH of 8.0. It has been shown to be nucleophilic when attacking carbonyl groups at the C2 position of other molecules. Tetrafluoro-4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid can also be oxidized by molecular oxygen or flavin mononucleotide to form 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-(oxydihydro)benzoic acid and 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroacetaldehyde respectively.
