Product Information

Name:
1-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidin-4-ol
Synonyms:
  • 1-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidin-4-ol
  • 4-Piperidinol, 1-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-
Description:

1-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidin-4-ol is a reagent used in organic synthesis. It can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of azoalkenes, nucleophilic intermediates, enolates, and radical cyclization. It can also be used to synthesize enamines and methylidene compounds. 1-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidin-4-ol has shown regiospecificity in radical cyclization reactions. The electron lone pair occupies the beta position with respect to the carbonyl group. This allows for the methylidene group to occupy a pseudoaxial position.
