H-Trp-Lys-OH formiate salt is a tryptophan derivative that is stable in air and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines as well as cyclooxygenase, lipoxygenase, and nitric oxide synthase enzymes. This compound also inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators, such as leukotrienes, prostaglandins, and thromboxanes. H-Trp-Lys-OH formiate salt has been shown to be effective in lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It has also been shown to have an effect on autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). H-Trp-Lys-OH formiate salt can be used for the treatment of infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria due to its ability to inhibit viral replication.
