Product Information
- 9-Acridinecarboxylic acid, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-
1,2,3,4-Tetrahydroacridine-9-carboxylic acid (TCA) is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to be efficient in fluorescence spectroscopy. It is soluble in water and has a melting point of 130°C. The complexometric titration of TCA with europium ions can be used to determine the concentration of europium ions. Thermogravimetry and mass spectroscopy show that TCA decomposes at around 220°C or above. TCA can be synthesized from the reaction between 2-chlorobenzaldehyde and 1,3-dihydroacridinone. The acid derivatives of TCA are ligands for metal ions such as copper(II), iron(III), nickel(II), cobalt(II), zinc(II), manganese(III), chromium(III) and cadmium(II).
