Description:

3-Tetrahydrofuran-2-ylpropanoic acid is a gas sensor that has been shown to be sensitive to the presence of chloride, water vapor, and hydrogen sulfide. It is used in particle detection and has a fluorescence probe for Cd(II). The quantum yield for 3-tetrahydrofuran-2-ylpropanoic acid was found to be 0.3%. 3-Tetrahydrofuran-2-ylpropanoic acid has an affinity for peroxidase activity and can be used as a low energy hydrogen bond donor. This compound also shows synergistic effects with microspheres.
