Product Information
1-[4-(1H-Tetrazol-1-yl)phenyl]ethanone is a drug that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter species. It also exhibits antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus. 1-[4-(1H-Tetrazol-1-yl)phenyl]ethanone has been shown to be active in the presence of chloride ions and is not inhibited by amines. The compound is an analogue of pyrazoles and chalcones and can be synthesized using triethyl orthoformate or cyanuric acid. This agent has been shown to act through the inhibition of protein synthesis in bacterial cells.
