Product Information
- Pyrimidine, 2,4,6-trifluoro-
2,4,6-Trifluoropyrimidine is a reactive chemical with the molecular formula C9H6F3N. It can be produced by reacting hydrogen chloride and phosphorus pentachloride in the presence of a catalyst. 2,4,6-Trifluoropyrimidine has been shown to react with amines to give an aromatic compound with a nitrogen nucleophile. The fluorine atom in the molecule reacts with hydrogen fluoride to produce hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen gas. This chemical also reacts with ethanolamine to form ethylenediamine and 2,4,6-trifluoroethanol. The crystal structure of this compound has been determined using X-ray crystallography.
