Description

Tetrahydro-4-oxo-3-thiophenecarboxylic acid methyl ester is a synthetic, natural product chemistry. It has potent inhibitory activity against polynuclear anions such as sulfide and dioxane. Tetrahydro-4-oxo-3-thiophenecarboxylic acid methyl ester can be used in the preparation of acrylates and has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against acetonitrile. Synthetic methods for tetrahydro-4-oxo-3-thiophenecarboxylic acid methyl ester include reacting 6-aminonicotinic acid with thioglycolate in acetonitrile solution, followed by hydrolysis of the resulting 6-(6'-aminohexyloxy)nicotinic acid methyl ester with aqueous base.
