Description

4,5,6,7-Tetrahydro-1H-indazole-3-carbohydrazide is a peptidase inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetes. It inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV), which is an enzyme that breaks down the hormones insulin and glucagon. This results in increased levels of insulin and decreased levels of glucagon, which regulates blood sugar levels. Tetrahydro-1H-indazole-3-carbohydrazide has also been shown to inhibit other enzymes involved in the metabolism of proteins and peptides such as aspartyl protease and leucine aminopeptidase. The structural formula for tetrahydro-1H-indazole-3-carbohydrazide is CHNOS.
