Description:
2,3,5,6-Tetramethylterephthalaldehyde (TMT) is a β-unsaturated ketone that has anticancer activity. TMT inhibits tumor formation in animal models and pancreatic cancer cells in vitro. It is not active against other cancers such as colon or breast cancer. TMT can be polymerized to form a monomer with vinylene groups or particle with low energy. The polymerized TMT has an aromatic hydrocarbon structure with carbonyl groups and ester compounds.
