Description

Trimethyl(2-methylprop-2-en-1-yl)silane is an azide compound that has been used for the synthesis of allylation and squaramide derivatives. It also has been used in the preparation of recombinant proteins, including a model study that involved the use of X-ray crystallography to examine the reactivity of nucleophiles. Trimethyl(2-methylprop-2-en-1-yl)silane is a nucleophilic reagent that reacts with acetaldehyde to form a hydrogen chloride adduct. This reaction can be carried out stereoselectively by using chiral auxiliary molecules or by using chiral catalysts.
