Description

5,6,7,8-Tetrahydronaphthalen-2-amine is a diphenyl ether that is used in the screening of new drugs against cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in a dose-dependent manner and to induce cell death. 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydronaphthalen-2-amine also inhibits the activity of amine oxidases such as formamidase and acetylcholinesterase. This compound has also been shown to be an antioxidant and can protect cells against reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as hydrogen peroxide.
