1,3-Thiazinane-4-carboxylic acid hydrochloride is an excipient that is used to prepare pharmaceutical dosage forms. It has a melting point of 100°C and a molecular weight of 268.1. The product is insoluble in water, but can be reconstituted with a fatty acid ester such as propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol 400. 1,3-Thiazinane-4-carboxylic acid hydrochloride is often used as a diluent for fatty acids and fatty alcohols in pharmaceutical preparations. It also inhibits bromodomain and prevents the ligation of erdosteine to human DNA by blocking the binding site on the bromodomain.
