TRV-130·HCl is a mu-opioid receptor agonist that has been shown to produce antinociceptive effects in both acute and chronic pain models. It has also been shown to have potential therapeutic benefits in animal models of neuropathic pain, inflammatory pain, and visceral pain. TRV-130·HCl has a high binding affinity for the mu-opioid receptor and can be used as an analgesic drug candidate. This compound produces a profile that is similar to morphine, although it may lack some of the side effects common with this drug. TRV-130·HCl has not yet undergone any clinical trials for human use and there is no information on its safety or efficacy during pregnancy.
