TRV-130 is a mu-opioid agonist with nociceptive and antinociceptive properties. It has been shown to have a high affinity for the mu-opioid receptor, which is responsible for pain control. TRV-130 has also been found to be effective against inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain in animal models. TRV-130 has been shown to decrease the release of glutamate and substance P in animal models, which are neurotransmitters that play an important role in inflammatory and neuropathic pain. TRV-130 may also be used as a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of chronic pain.
