Thiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidin-2-amine is a new class of drugs that have been shown to be effective in the treatment of colon cancer. The thiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidin-2-amine class of drugs has been shown to inhibit tumour cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells. These compounds have also been shown to stimulate DNA repair pathways by inhibiting tyrosine kinases that are involved in DNA damage and repair. These drugs are also effective against other cancers such as prostate, breast, and lung cancers.
