Product Information
Tetrahydro-1,8-naphthyridine is a type of amine that has been shown to inhibit the binding of glutamate to its receptor in Caco-2 cells. Tetrahydro-1,8-naphthyridine has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on chronic lymphocytic leukemia in vivo. In addition, this compound has pharmacokinetic properties that make it suitable for use as a cancer drug. Tetrahydro-1,8-naphthyridine is metabolized by humans through hydrolysis and oxidation or reduction. The nitrogen atoms are converted into amino groups, which are then released as ammonia by the liver. Tetrahydro-1,8-naphthyridine binds with proteins and inhibits their activity. This binding is due to hydrogen bonds formed between the nitrogen atoms and carbonyl groups of the protein.
