2,4,6-Trichloropyrimidine-5-carbonitrile is a polyester that was designed to inhibit the enzyme tyrosine kinase. The structure of 2,4,6-Trichloropyrimidine-5-carbonitrile is based on the fluorine atom and the carbon atoms in the nitro group which are oriented in opposite directions. This drug has been shown to have inhibitory activities against autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus erythematosus. It has also been shown to be effective against high salt concentrations and labile conditions.
