Description

Trans-1-methoxy-3-(trimethylsiloxy)-1,3-butadiene is a compound of the general formula CH2=C(OH)(CH3)CH=CH2. It is an activated form of trifluoroacetic acid that can be used to synthesize other compounds. Trans-1-methoxy-3-(trimethylsiloxy)-1,3-butadiene has been shown to bind to receptors and affect their function. The compound has also been shown to inhibit the growth of some bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis and DNA synthesis.
