Description:
cis-Tetrahydrofuran-2,5-diyl)dimethanol is a catheter that has been shown to be damaging to tissue and amines. It can also be used as a chemotherapeutic agent. cis-Tetrahydrofuran-2,5-diyl)dimethanol is injected into the cerebrospinal fluid of rats and the optical properties are measured. This drug is eliminated through the kidneys and not in the liver or brain tissue. cis-Tetrahydrofuran-2,5-diyl)dimethanol is alkylated by dimethylamine to form an active metabolite that can cross the blood brain barrier more easily than its parent compound.
