2,4,6-Trichlorophenyl isothiocyanate (TCPITC) is a multicomponent system that consists of 2.0 mM propranolol hydrochloride, 2.0 mM flunarizine dihydrochloride, and 0.2 M methanol. TCPITC has linearity in the concentration range of 0.01-100 μM and can be used to measure the absorption coefficient of propranolol by measuring the wavelength change at 340 nm. The equation for the calculation of A is A = log(I/Io), where I and Io are the intensities of light before and after sample addition respectively.
