Description:
2,4,6-Trimethoxybenzeneboronicacid is a boronic acid that has been used in the synthesis of moieties with methoxy groups. 2,4,6-Trimethoxybenzeneboronicacid is stable and can be used as a cation when it is coordinated to metal ions. This compound also reacts with carbene and singlet oxygen to form an unstable intermediate that spontaneously demethylates to form the corresponding alcohol. It has been used in the synthesis of conjugate acids of biflavonoids such as quercetin and kaempferol. The methoxy group on 2,4,6-Trimethoxybenzeneboronicacid allows for reactions with arylboronic acids.
