Description:

2-[2-(2-Thienyl)ethyl]benzoicacid is a hydroxide that can be used for the reduction of metals. It has been shown to be recyclable and reagent grade. This compound is stable in alkaline solutions, but is sensitive to overloads. The density of this compound is 1.8 g/mL at room temperature and 2.0 g/mL at 60°C. It has a melting point of 217°C. 2-[2-(2-Thienyl)ethyl]benzoicacid has been shown to have electrochemical properties, which makes it useful for the synthesis of benzoic acid by electrochemical reduction methods with hydrogen gas as a reducing agent.
