(Z)-3,5,4'-Trimethoxystilbene is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial functions in skin cells and apoptosis pathway. The compound has been found to have biological properties such as protein synthesis inhibition and cell-cycle arrest. (Z)-3,5,4'-Trimethoxystilbene binds to dna duplexes and inhibits the synthesis of proteins vital for cell division.
