The second method involves the synthesis of an acetone adduct and treatment with hydrochloric acid. (S)-(-)-1,2,3,4-Tetrahedronaphthoic acid crystallizes from acetone in needles or as a white powder. This substance is used in industrial processes for the production of palonosetron hydrochloride (Aloxi).
