Product Information
- Thionitrosyl chloride
- Chloro(Nitrilo)-Lambda~4~-Sulfane
Thiazylchloride is a chlorine-containing molecule with the chemical formula ClN. It is a colorless liquid that has a boiling point of -4.2°C and a density of 1.2 g/cm3. Thiazylchloride is soluble in water, alcohols, ethers, and benzene. Thiazylchloride reacts with ammonia to produce ammonium chloride and hydrogen gas: NH3 + ClN → NH4Cl + H2
The compound has been used as a photoelectron generator for flow systems and as a modulating agent for X-ray crystal structures. The monofluoride also has an important role in metabolic disorders due to its ability to bind with chloride and inhibit the enzyme reaction rate.
