Description

2,3,5,6-Tetrachloroterephthaloyldichloride is an organic solvent that has the chemical formula of Cl2C6H2Cl4. It is a reactive chlorine compound and has been used as a chlorinating agent. 2,3,5,6-Tetrachloroterephthaloyldichloride reacts with diphenyl ethers to produce polycarboxylic acids and chlorinated diphenyl ethers. It has also been used in Friedel-Crafts acylation reactions with α-halocarbons to produce polychlorinated aromatic compounds. 2,3,5,6-Tetrachloroterephthaloyldichloride is highly toxic and causes irritation when it comes into contact with eyes or skin.
