Description:

Tetrabutylammonium bromide is a salt of tetrabutylammonium and bromine. It is used as an analytical reagent in the determination of fluoride, copper, and potassium by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Tetrabutylammonium bromide is also a catalyst for the reaction between picolinic acid and sodium salts to form picolinamide. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of infectious bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
