1-(1,3,5-Triazin-2-Yl)Piperazine is a piperazine derivative that has been used as a selective agent for screening purposes. It has shown antimicrobial activity against bacteria such as P. aeruginosa and fungi such as B. subtilis, while being inactive against E. coli and other microbes. The compound is nucleophilic and inhibits the growth of microorganisms by interfering with their DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. 1-(1,3,5-Triazin-2-Yl)Piperazine has also been studied for its anti-fungal properties against Candida albicans.
