Product Information
- Tetrachloromethylbenzene
2,3,4,5-Tetrachlorotoluene is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon that is used as a precursor in the manufacture of ethylene diamine. It is also used to prepare fatty acid carboxylates and amides. 2,3,4,5-Tetrachlorotoluene can be prepared by reacting chlorine with toluene. This reaction can be carried out in a variety of ways including by using an amide as the cross-linking agent. The chloride atom in 2,3,4,5-tetrachlorotoluene can be detected by NMR spectroscopy at δ 6.0 ppm and its cytotoxic potency can be determined using the dehydrating assay or chloroform assay.
