Description:
Meso-tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphine (MPP) is a chloride salt of the porphyrin pigment, meso-tetra(4-chlorophenyl)porphine. This compound has been shown to have a low solubility in water and is soluble in ethanol, acetone, and ether. The solubility of MPP increases with increasing temperature and decreasing solvent composition. Thermodynamic parameters for MPP are available in the apelblat equation.
