5,10,15,20-Tetraphenyl-21H,23H-porphine nickel(II) is a compound that has been synthesized in the form of a deep red solid. This compound is an organometallic with a chemical formula of Ni(C8H6)2. It is obtained by reacting pyridine with nickel chloride and phenylmagnesium bromide. 5,10,15,20-Tetraphenyl-21H,23H-porphine nickel(II) has been shown to be chemically stable at neutral pH and to have an electron affinity of 0.5 eV. This compound has not been found to react with any functional groups or feedstocks tested thus far.
