Description:

1,1,1-Trimethoxy-2-methylpropane is an organic solvent that contains a hydroxy group and a hydroxyl group. It is used as a polymerization initiator for epoxysilanes and reaction products (e.g., polyethers) that contain hydrocarbon groups. 1,1,1-Trimethoxy-2-methylpropane also has the ability to react with copper at high temperatures to form a complex. The dehydration of 1,1,1-trimethoxy-2-methylpropane can produce glaucoma in animals.
