3,6,9-Trioxaundecamethylenebis-(2-ethylhexanoate) is a fatty acid that belongs to the class of polymers. It has a particle size of 5-100 microns and a viscosity of 100-1,000 cps. This polymer film is made from 3,6,9-trioxaundecanedioic acid (TDA), ethylene glycol, and an esterifying agent. It is used as coatings for metal surfaces or as a skeleton for hydroxyl group and chloride ions in cement materials. 3,6,9-Trioxaundecamethylenebis-(2-ethylhexanoate) can also be used as an ingredient in calcium carbonate or hydroxy group containing polymers. The aromatic hydrocarbons in this polymer have been shown to absorb ultraviolet light with wavelengths between 250 nm and 400 nm.
