Thallium(III) nitrate trihydrate
Synonyms:
  • TTN
  • Thalliumnitratetrihydrate
  • Thallic Nitrate, Trihydrate
  • Thallium(3+) Trinitrate
  • Thallium(3+) Trinitrate Hexahydrate
Description:

Thallium(III) nitrate trihydrate is a thallium salt that undergoes a reaction with an alkanoic acid to form a tnf-α inhibitor. It has been shown to inhibit the production of TNF-α and other inflammatory cytokines. Thallium nitrate trihydrate inhibits the activity of three enzymes in the NF-κB pathway, which is involved in inflammation. The hydroxyl group on the nitrogen atom may be responsible for this inhibitory effect.
Thallium nitrate trihydrate has anticancer activity and potent cytotoxicity against cancer cells, including breast cancer cells. It also has an inhibitory effect on lipoproteins and cholesterol synthesis, as well as inhibiting the production of isoflavones by plants. This compound has been shown to have a high affinity for the oxytocin receptor, which may be related to its anti-inflammatory properties.
