2-Toluenesulfonyl chloride is a cationic monomer that polymerizes with amines to form a water-soluble polymer. It is an amide that can be used as a diagnostic agent in animals, as it has been shown to bind to the primary amino groups of proteins. 2-Toluenesulfonyl chloride also inhibits inflammatory diseases and autoimmune diseases, and may be useful for the treatment of both conditions.
