Product Information
Tetracaine N-Oxide is a chlorinated derivative of tetracaine that is used as an analytical reagent and in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. Tetracaine N-Oxide is not active when taken orally. It has been shown to be excreted through the urinary tract, with a half-life of 3 hours. Tetracaine N-Oxide's toxicity can be determined by quantitation in animal tissues using GC or GC/MS analysis. Tetracaine N-Oxide can also be used for calibration purposes by applying it to an ionization detector and measuring its response to a known concentration. The sensitivity of this detector can be determined from a calibration curve generated from GC or GC/MS analysis of tetracaine standards.
