Description:

Tricyclohexyltin chloride is an organometallic compound that belongs to the group of p2-molecules. It has been shown to have cytotoxic and antitumor properties in animal models. Tricyclohexyltin chloride binds to zinc diethyldithiocarbamate, which is a coordination complex that inhibits the efflux pump on cancer cells. This inhibition leads to an increase in intracellular levels of cancer drugs, such as doxorubicin or cyclophosphamide, which are substrates for this pump. Tricyclohexyltin chloride also inhibits liver cells by binding to a molecule called serum albumin, which is found in human serum. Tricyclohexyltin chloride has been shown to be toxic at high doses in animals and humans with blood disorders.
