Product Information
Thieno[2,3-c]pyridin-7(6H)-one is a galactose derivative that has been shown to have conformational and stereochemical properties. Thieno[2,3-c]pyridin-7(6H)-one has been shown to interact with the cell membrane and transport through it. It also has been shown to be synthesized from L-galactose and 2,4-dichlorobenzene. Thieno[2,3-c]pyridin-7(6H)-one can exist as either of two isomers: the cis or trans form. The cis form is more reactive than the trans form due to the higher electron density on the ring system. This difference in reactivity may lead to different biological properties for each isomer.
