Description:
2,4,5-Trichloro-6-methylpyrimidine is a solvent that is used in the photolithography process to create semiconducting materials. It has been shown to be an effective transport agent for halides and isomeric compounds. 2,4,5-Trichloro-6-methylpyrimidine is also used as a reactant in the preparation of pyrazoles from benzaldehydes and nitroalkanes. The kinetics of this reaction are homologous. The activation energy for this reaction was determined to be about 24 kJ/mol.
