Trimethylsilyl acetate is an acidic chemical, with a pH of 1-2. Trimethylsilyl acetate can be metabolized by the body, leading to metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemia. The isolated yield of trimethylsilyl acetate is approximately 50%. Trimethylsilyl acetate can be converted into trifluoroacetic acid through hydrochloric acid or chromatographically purified using chromatographic science.
