2-(Trimethylsilyl)ethanesulfonamide is a nucleophilic reagent that reacts with amines to form aziridines. It is used in the preparation of enduracididine, which is an antimalarial agent. 2-(Trimethylsilyl)ethanesulfonamide can also be used for the synthesis of imine derivatives and trichloroacetimidates. This chemical has been shown to react with halides and alkene substrates. 2-(Trimethylsilyl)ethanesulfonamide has been shown to have acidic properties, which may be due to its ability to release HCl upon hydrolysis.
