Talsaclidine is a fatty acid that has been shown to have antimuscarinic and cholinergic properties. Talsaclidine binds to acetylcholine receptors, which are found in the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. It also binds to adrenergic receptors, which are found in the heart and blood vessels. Talsaclidine is used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. Talsaclidine is believed to be an agonist of both acetylcholine receptors and adrenergic receptors, but it has not been proven through clinical studies. Molecular modeling studies have indicated that talsaclidine may have a high affinity for the muscarinic M3 receptor.
