Description:
4,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-2,5(1H,3H)-quinolinedione is a decaline derivative with a beta-blocking effect. It is synthesized from the reaction of carbostyril and acrylic acid in the presence of hydrocarbon solvent. 4,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-2,5(1H,3H)-quinolinedione can be used to produce β-blockers with different structures. Tetrahydro-2,5(1H,3H)-quinolinedione can also react with dehydrogenation agents to form new products.
