Description

2-Thioxothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid is a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy. It has been shown to be a potent inducer of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and it can be used as a reagent for fluorescence spectroscopy. 2-Thioxothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid is also stable to chemical conditions, which makes it an appropriate candidate for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. This compound has been shown to be effective in vitro against wild-type strains, and its chemical stability makes it suitable for long-term storage. 2-Thioxothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid is not active against certain bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, however it is active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
