a-Tripiperideine is an enolate that can be used as a catalyst to catalyze the formation of carbinols and cyclic compounds. It is also used in the synthesis of trimeric products, such as platelets and erythrocytes. The reaction product of a-tripiperideine with magnesium yields trimerizing agents, which are used in the production of vinylene.
