Product Information

Name:
Tetramethylrhodamine-6-isothiocyanate
Synonyms:
  • 6-TRITCR isomer
  • TetramethylrhodamineB isothiocyanate
  • 6-Tritc
Description:

Tetramethylrhodamine-6-isothiocyanate (TRITC) is a fluorescent dye that is used in microscopy. It has been shown to be reactive with the mitochondrial membrane potential and dextran sulfate, which are both involved in inflammatory bowel disease. TRITC can also cause a decrease in the number of white blood cells, as well as an increase in human serum albumin concentration. This dye has been used to label myeloma cells and provide a cell specific probe for the study of biological properties. TRITC also binds to cell nuclei, making it useful for staining cell nuclei or other organelles.
