Description:
2,4,5,7-Tetranitro-9-fluorenone is a nitroaromatic compound that is used as a fluorophore. It emits light when exposed to radiation and has high values for activation energies. The nmr spectra of 2,4,5,7-tetranitro-9-fluorenone indicate that it has a carbonyl group and a molecule with an irreversible inhibition. 2,4,5,7-Tetranitro-9-fluorenone is carcinogenic and can cause cancer in humans if inhaled or ingested. This compound has been shown to be mutagenic in bacteria and may produce chromosomal aberrations in mammalian cells.
