Description

1,1,2,2-Tetrachloro-1,2-dimethyldisilane (TMDS) is a silicon compound that is used in elastomers as an additive to improve the rubber's strength. TMDS is also used to produce silicone rubber and carbon tetrachloride. This compound has been shown to exhibit vibrational frequencies at various temperatures and can be introduced into elastomers by heating them with TMDS vapor.
