Product Information
- 1,3,2-Dioxaborolane, 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-(3-methylphenyl)-
- 3-Methylphenylboronic acid pinacol ester
3-Tolylboronic acid pinacol ester is a fluorescent probe that can be used in analytical chemistry. It is synthesized by the reaction of 3-tolylboronic acid and pinacol ester with a base. The compound has been shown to react with oxygen species, which are generated during analytical reactions, such as those occurring during the analysis of phenylboronic acids. This probe has also been shown to quantitatively measure tyrosinase activity and to have reactive properties similar to that of resorufin. Resorufin is an organic molecule that reacts with hydrogen peroxide, generating fluorescent products. 3-Tolylboronic acid pinacol ester can be used as an alternative for resorufin in some cases because it does not require any additional reagents or conditions for its detection.
